COMPUTING ENRICHMENT AND DEVELOPMENT DIVISION (COPED)
The Computing Enrichment and Development Division (CoPED) was established in March 2009 and is located at the School of Computing SOC, UUM College of Arts and Sciences. CoPED was awarded by the Assistant Vice-Chancellor of the College of Arts and Science, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Prof. Associate Professor Dr Suhaidi Hassan, to make Universiti Utara Malaysia as a professional IT training center and test center at Universiti Utara Malaysia. It aims to validate the education, experience and skills of students and others in UUM.
In addition to developing professional Information Technology, CoPED is also a preparation for students to prepare themselves for a highly competitive work market. CoPED consists of academy and additional courses that will provide professional certificates. This academy is Oracle, Cisco. In addition, preparation of the TOEFL test is also provided by CoPED for students who wish to pursue their studies abroad. CoPED also offers internal skills and software development. CoPED is powered by Prometric and Pearson Vue testing center, which offers various professional certification exams.
Objective
- To cater the training needs of UUM community and northern region.
- To provide consultation and research services to the related organization and industries.
- To provide advancement in knowledge and practice of current technology.
- To explore opportunities for mutual cooperation with reputable industries.
