16 March 2023 - A working committee meeting for the collaboration between CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) and Universiti Utara Malaysia's (UUM) School of Computing took place on 16 March 2023, at the Balau Meeting Room in Cyber Axis Tower 1, Cyberjaya, Selangor. The meeting aimed to strengthen the MSc Cyber Security programme and discuss the renewal of their Memorandum of Understanding.
Attendees included key representatives from both organizations: Dr Khuzairi Mohd Zaini (Program Chair for MSc Cybersecurity), Dr Azizi Abas (Program Chair for Bachelor of Computer Science), and Dr Baharudin Osman (Director for Computing Professional Enrichment & Development Division) from UUM. Associate Professor Ts. Dr Norliza Katuk, Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation at UUM, was also present. From CyberSecurity Malaysia, Ms Yaslinda Yassin (Senior Executive at the Cyber Security Professional Development Department) and Lee Hwee Hsiung (Head of Cyber Security Professional Development Department) participated in the meeting.
The agenda covered a welcome speech, discussions on embedding professional training programmes in the MSc Cybersecurity curriculum, and operational aspects of the programme. Currently, two professional training programmes are integrated into the MSc Cyber Security programme: Certified Information Security Management System ISO/IEC 27001:2013 – Auditor and Certified Information Security Awareness Manager.
The meeting also reviewed student registration reports and statistics for 2021-2023 and the programme's progress report. The working committee meeting highlights the commitment of both UUM and CyberSecurity Malaysia in fostering a solid partnership to enhance the MSc Cybersecurity programme and develop skilled professionals in the cybersecurity field.
