PROF. DR. OSMAN GHAZALI
Welcome to School of Computing, UUM, the pioneer in Information Technology for more than 30 years. With our latest undergraduate and postgraduate curriculums, delivered by skilful academics, we aim at providing the nation with excellent talents towards IR 4.0 that focuses heavily on interconnectivity, automation, machine learning, and real-time data relevant to computing technology demands in today’s digital world.
Our researchers are involved in different projects through industry collaborations and community engagements, other than the university level. As we move forward, we received more research grants from international organizations and national agencies, including Erasmus CBHE Capacity Building in/or Higher Education and Erasmus ICM International Credit Mobility. A global research exposure has become a trend among us with more MoU and MoA bonded with international institutions. Throughout the School Centre of Excellence (S-COE), PhD research labs (IASDO, InterNetWorks, HCC, Data Science, IoT), and the MCMC-UUM Makerspace Lab, SOC researchers have been recognized in various research domains including Big Data, IOT, Machine Learning, Robotics, and Cyber Security.
In complying with emerging demands in existing computing technology, the school will be offering Bachelor of Computer Science with Honours [B. Comp. Sc. (Hons.)] and M.Sc. (Cybersecurity). As UUM is now in the realm of phase 3 Strategic Plan (2021-2025), we are set and determined to nail our goals focusing on UUM Branding, Quality Alumni and Management Reference Centre based on 25 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). In the respect of global partnership, our school activities are in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in serving the nation and protecting the planet.
Our endless effort has been evidenced with the acknowledgement of UUM as top 551 - 600 QS World University Ranking by Subject for Computer Science and Information Systems in 2022. Together, we will serve and move forward for the excellence of our university and the nation.
