From June 3rd to July 3rd, the Institute for Advanced and Smart Digital Opportunities (IASDO) and School of Computing (SOC) embarked on the second phase of "Explorasi IoT Bersama Murid Orang Asli Sekolah Kebangsaan Telanok, Cameron Highlands" phase 2. This ongoing endeavor represents a steadfast commitment to spreading awareness and knowledge of the Internet of Things (IoT) among young Orang Asli students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Telanok, Cameron Highlands, fostering digital literacy and empowerment within this vibrant community.
The program enlisted the dedicated members of IASDO, who shared their expertise and enthusiasm with a group of 30 eager Orang Asli students. The journey commenced with Shehu Malami Sarkintudu delivering an introductory presentation on IoT. It served as a gateway to a realm where interconnected devices, data, and technology converge to create opportunities for innovation.
A significant highlight of the event was the presence of guest expert Dr. Aishah, whose expertise illuminated the path to IoT. She expounded on the role of sensors, elucidating how these unassuming devices are the backbone of IoT systems. Dr. Aishah's insights provided invaluable knowledge, instilling a deeper understanding of the technological landscape in the students.
Facilitating the activities, Nurul Izzah Mohamad Ghozali, Isyaku Uba Haruna and Ismail Bello created a dynamic learning environment. Icebreaking activities ensured that each Sekolah Kebangsaan Telanok student felt welcomed and engaged. The young minds were encouraged to envision and create their digital solutions. The ensuing Questions and Answers session allowed for an open exchange of ideas, further enriching the students' learning experience.
Gratitude and appreciation were palpable throughout the event. IASDO takes immense pride in being part of such empowering sessions. The commitment to knowledge sharing and community enrichment runs deep within the organization's ethos, and this event exemplified that commitment in action.
As a token of appreciation and a lasting memory, the event concluded with IASDO handing gifts to the young participants from Sekolah Kebangsaan Telanok. These tokens represented physical gifts and a symbolic gesture of empowerment and encouragement for the students to continue their journey of discovery in the world of IoT.
In retrospect, "Explorasi Iot Bersama Murid Orang Asli Sekolah Kebangsaan Telanok, Cameron Highlands" Phase 2 was a resounding success. It showcased the potential for positive change that arises when knowledge meets enthusiasm. The Orang Asli students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Telanok now stand equipped with the beginnings of a digital skillset, poised to shape their own futures and contribute to the ever-evolving landscape of technology.
