BACKGROUND

Data Management and Software Solution known as DMSS Research Lab is to be established in 2022 at the School of Computing UUM (SOC) for various research activities can be carried out, especially in the field of management, and data analytics, data integration, quality management, and data security. Since 2020, SOC has successfully acquired the System Management Project And Database Under Data Section, Policy Planning And Research Section (BPPD), Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) where this project involved collaboration between researchers at SOC and staff KPT. They manage data, maintain and develop the main system at BPPD, and KPT such as MyMohes, SKPG, and Portal GREaT.

In general, this project involves large data management which is approximately 24 million data (approximately 1 million student data, research, development, staff, and graduates with involves 870 IPT every year) stored in the data warehouse. The data has been collected from 2006 until 2022 and it is obtained from various sources namely UA, IPTS, Polytechnics, Community Colleges, and ILKA all over the country. In 2020, this project is growing and the Portal GREaT is being developed to help IPT students and graduates to improve their skills and marketability. In addition, this project also involves data sharing services with industry and various agencies such as National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), and so on based on agreement or request from the KPT.
