Sintok, 9 May 2019 – For the first time this year, Internationalization Committee - School of Computing (SOC) organized an engagement session to bridge the communication between Postgraduate students with the Management team of SOC. The session was attended by Dean of SOC, Prof. Dr. Huda Hj Ibrahim, Deputy Dean of SOC, Assoc. Prof. Osman Ghazali, Head of Departments of SOC, and representatives from Centre for International Affairs & Cooperation (CIAC), and some lecturers from SOC. Around twenty (20) postgraduate students consist of PhD and Master degree students participated in the session.
SOC Dean, Prof. Dr. Huda Hj Ibrahim shared the new policies regarding the proposal defense period and the candidature of postgraduate students, especially PhD students and Master-by-research students. In addition, she also shared her ups and downs during her PhD journey. The session was open for discussion and questions from students, and the students were given a chance to share their problems related to their study and personal matters. The SOC Management team were happily answered the problems raised during the session. In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khairuddin Kasiran shared his thoughts and useful tips regarding how to succeed the PhD journey.
To know the students better, the students were requested to share their problems and SOC Management Team responded to any issues raised by the students.
This session was a great opportunity for both, SOC Management Team and Postgraduate students, to share the thoughts and listen to issues among Postgraduate students.
