In conjunction with the Innovative Research, Invention and Application Exhibition (I-RIA) 2018, School of Computing (SOC) organized a seminar called “Seminar Cemerlang STEM: Kemahiran Berfikir Aras Tinggi (KBAT) Sains PT3 2018” on 21st April 2018. This seminar was facilitated by Mrs. Noorseiah Mohamad, a school teacher of Megat Dewa Secondary School, who is also the Science Ambassador of Malaysia Science Academy MOSTI. The half day seminar was held at the Auditorium Hall of School of International Studies (SoIS). The seminar was attended by more than 250 PT3 science students and teachers, from schools nearby UUM. Among the participated schools are SMK Changlun, SMA Nahdhah Hasanah and SMA Hidayah Islamiah. In an interactive session, the speaker shared techniques to tackle the KBAT exam questions. The seminar contributes to SOC as corporate social responsibility (CSR) program to the local committee. More importantly, the students get a lot of tips and knowledge on how to deal with KBAT questions. It is hoped that this kind of seminar can be held in the near future to serve the community and share knowledge with the students. The participants also hope that SOC can organize similar seminars for other subjects, especially Mathematics.
